We offer a combination of physical security, threat, and risk assessments customized to fit the needs identified by your staff and business.
These assessments and supporting training can help limit costs and future liability after being approved through your legal department and insurance.
Read more about different assessment types and industries we have served below.
Security Assessment
A security assessment is like a health checkup for your business’s safety and resilience. It takes a close look at your systems, processes, and policies to uncover potential risks before they become problems. By identifying vulnerabilities, checking compliance with industry standards, and offering clear, actionable recommendations, a security assessment helps you strengthen your defenses and protect what matters most—your data, your people, and your reputation
Threat Assessment
A threat assessment helps your business stay one step ahead by identifying and analyzing potential risks that could impact your operations, people, or assets. It looks at both internal and external factors—such as crime trends, workplace risks, and environmental hazards—to provide a clear picture of where dangers may come from. With practical recommendations and proactive strategies, a threat assessment empowers you to make smarter decisions, reduce risks, and protect your organization’s future.
Risk Assessment
A risk assessment gives your business a clear understanding of where you may be vulnerable and how those risks could impact your operations. By evaluating the likelihood and potential impact of different threats—whether financial, operational, criminal, or environmental—a risk assessment helps you prioritize what matters most. The result is a practical roadmap that allows you to reduce exposure, strengthen resilience, and protect your business from costly disruptions.
Henne Jewelers
While Anthony was the Director of Security at Henne Jewelers, he built policies and plans for their new, 4 floor, show room from the ground up.
1. A security assessment was conducted to help identify common issues across departments as well as how the security team could best support different areas of the store.
2. Emergency plans were drafted that utilized security, safety volunteers, and set expectations for the rest of the staff in a variety of potential emergencies.
3. Security policies were drafted and approved to help create a standardized approach to day to day tasks to reduce security gaps and ensure personnel were properly trained and certified to respond in different situations.
Allegheny County DHS
A county office located downtown reached out for help developing an active threat plan. Staff felt that they did not have direction or how to respond to potentially upset clients that may be in their space.
1. A threat assessment was conducted to identify the areas that were most concerning to staff.
2. Budget-friendly recommendations were made to create a more secure space that did not limit staff accessibility.
3. An active threat plan was drafted by STG Training utilizing language staff understood for locations in the building which would outline a framework to follow in the event of an emergency. It was then submitted to the safety committee to edit and finalize.
4. Staff received bleed control training and a briefing on the plan that was then reinforced with a walk-through of the building so staff could see first hand what the response options were in each area of the building.
Allegheny Millwork
We were contacted by Allgheny Millwork about active shooter training. However, safety staff felt they did not really know what they were looking for besides something hands on. After a brief conversation to discuss concerns, it was decided that AM would like a threat assessment, plan drafted, and training conducted for staff.
1. A walkthrough was conducted of a ~100,000 square foot facility to help identify recommendations to reinforce the building with a focus on active killer threats.
2. The walk-through and meeting with safety staff highlighted the need for two plans that staff could follow.
3. Two plans were drafted by STG Training and STG Training liased with the safety committe, the legal department, and insurance to ensure to work through three drafts of the plan.
4. Through the drafting process, all the necessary people were consulted for the plan to be approved by legal and insurance that ultimately limited the company’s liability while helping staff to feel safer.
5. Staff received hands on AVIRT training that built real skills that could be applied to their plans in real-time.
